Sammy Hironaka, Owner of Bloomonade
Bloomonade was founded by freelance floral designer Sammy Hironaka. Her services range from small gatherings like birthday parties to full-scale weddings and events.
Before Bloomonade was a business, it was a passionate hobby for Sammy. That changed after her opportunity to create centerpieces for the SacAsian Chamber’s Annual Installation and Awards Dinner. The success from that event was an eye-opening moment for Sammy to take a leap of faith and officially start her business.
Sammy is grateful to the floral community in her area – from the local growers to fellow floral designers – she recognizes they are a powerful support network. Especially now, during uncertain times, communities must unite together for the health and safety of their members. Although many of her spring weddings have been rescheduled or postponed, she is staying connected with her clients through the changes.
Her advice for new business owners?
“Social media is a powerful tool. You can start slow by just making social media accounts. Start interacting with your community and watch your business grow.”
