#ReimagineSac: Sector7 Salon Brings Science Fiction to Del Paso Boulevard
It’s not every day you find an upscale hair and nail salon with “geeky flair.” This is how co-owner Sheilah Nickerson describes Sector7 Salon, located on Del Paso Boulevard. Inside the salon, you’re likely to first notice the mirror frames – cut in shapes inspired by famous spaceships in science fiction fandom.
“Our environment is welcoming to all humans, and while you don’t have to be a nerd to love our vibe, it certainly doesn’t hurt,” Sheilah said.
Science fiction inspiration isn’t the only thing unique about the one-of-a-kind salon. On site, Sector7 Salon also hosts “The Blue Blocks Podcast,” hosted by stylists Sheilah and Cierra, as well as Jonathan Tate, the assistant brewer at King Cong Brewery Co. Sheilah described the project as “a podcast where we geek out about everything, especially Uptown Sacramento.”
The team regularly invites Del Paso Boulevard business owners to join the show as guests and share their Boulevard story with listeners. By keeping this constant dialogue alive, Sheilah, her co-owner Logan Brimer, and their team at Sector7 Salon are showcasing the lively community and business growth along the Boulevard.
“We are excited to maintain the growth of our diverse group of stylists and clients,” Sheilah said. “We hope our unique concept will continue to draw new traffic to Del Paso Boulevard from all around the Sacramento region.”
Sheilah emphasized the vibrant nature of the Boulevard, and how both tourists and Sacramento locals will always find a reason to visit.
“Sector7 is always encouraging our clients to check out all the other great things happening near us on the Boulevard,” she said. “As our customers continue to come back and visit us month after month, they are able to see this wonderful street come back to life one business at a time.”
