#ReimagineSac: Why Burly Beverages is Your One-Stop Shop
In every neighborhood, there’s one business that seems to do it all. Along Del Paso Boulevard, that title probably goes to Burly Beverages. The small business has a tasting room, home bar supply shop, and a restaurant called Burly’s Takeout. They also produce hand-made, all natural soda syrups, shrub syrups, and cocktail mixers.
That’s not all. Prior to the pandemic, Burly Beverages also hosted community-centered events.
“Before COVID, we were hosting a free six-hour mini music and food festival called the Burly Beverages BBQ,” Gabriel said. “Since COVID, our staff and families have been volunteering their time at the Rise Against Hunger warehouse in North Sacramento by packing meals.”
Although the pandemic continues to affect all businesses, Burly Beverages is looking forward to what the next year will bring. The business hopes to build an outdoor patio in order to prepare for future customers.
“We plan to open for dine-in food service in the spring, while also pivoting into a vegan/vegetarian smokehouse,” Gabriel said. “Being able to have people eat the food here is very exciting.”
In the meantime, fans of Burly Beverages can visit their website to order takeout or even browse cocktail recipes to make their own concoctions at home. If there’s a question about pairings, shipping, or even nutrition facts, the website has it all.
Beyond Burly Beverages’ reopening, Gabriel hopes to share success with other businesses along the Boulevard.
“As we learn how to market ourselves more effectively, we anticipate bringing both out-of-area traffic and foot traffic to the Boulevard,” Gabriel said. “We hope to see the vacant storefronts filling up as we gain traction.”
