A Chamber Connection That Led to Lasting Business: Haggin Oaks & Providers International
When Haggin Oaks Golf Complex began searching for a new event security provider after experiencing inconsistent service from its longtime vendor, the team needed more than a list of companies—they needed a trusted introduction. One call to the Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce (SacAsian Chamber) connected them with a qualified local business, Providers International, leading to a partnership built on trust, professionalism, and shared values. Earlier this year, SacAsian Chamber Membership & Operations Coordinator Neeah Kirby connected Chamber members Mark Maurer, Director of Food & Beverage at Haggin Oaks Golf Complex, and Daniel Secundy, CEO of Providers International Special Event Security Services, to explore professional event security services.

That introduction quickly grew into more than a new vendor relationship. It became a lasting business partnership. Since connecting through SacAsian Chamber, Providers International has provided professional event security services for approximately 10 events at Haggin Oaks, supporting gatherings ranging from intimate celebrations of 100 guests to larger events of more than 300 attendees. The partnership demonstrates how meaningful business connections can solve real challenges, strengthen local businesses, and create opportunities that benefit the entire community.
What began as a simple member introduction quickly turned into a successful business partnership that continues to create value for both organizations.
Haggin Oaks had been evaluating its event security needs after determining its previous third-party provider no longer aligned with the service standards the organization was seeking. After reaching out to the SacAsian Chamber for assistance, Maurer said the experience immediately reflected the value of Chamber membership and relationship-building.
“When I called the office at the Chamber, they acted as if I was doing them a big favor. I was immediately welcomed and provided contact information and a formal introduction. The process was seamless and very professionally handled.”
Following the introduction, Haggin Oaks met with multiple competing firms before ultimately selecting Providers International as its event security provider.
“We engaged with three competitors and the one-on-one interaction with the Owner, as well as the “interview” process, was quite fulfilling.”
For Maurer, the decision ultimately came down to something that remains critical in business partnerships: trust. For Secundy, the partnership has been strengthened by the professionalism and collaboration demonstrated throughout the planning process. From graduation parties and university events to weddings and birthdays, the Providers International team has helped manage access control, crowd safety, medical emergencies, and event perimeter security, allowing guests and organizers to enjoy each event with greater peace of mind.
“What makes this partnership particularly valuable is the professionalism and clear communication from Mark and his team. They’ve made the coordination process seamless, providing detailed event briefs and being responsive to last-minute security adjustments,” said Secundy. “It’s refreshing to work alongside fellow Sacramento area professionals who respect the importance of proactive security planning and understand how it contributes to successful events.”
The partnership has also created measurable business growth for Providers International, expanding the company’s presence in Sacramento’s special events market while generating additional business opportunities. Both organizations credit the SacAsian Chamber with creating the opportunity that brought them together. Reflecting on the Chamber-facilitated introduction, Maurer shared:
“This has been the only time I have reached out and based on the outcome, I would never hesitate to do it all over again.” He added, “I joined the Chamber for establishing partnerships. It has been a great journey thus far and I am very appreciative.”

Secundy echoed those sentiments, emphasizing the value of connecting local businesses through trusted relationships.
“It’s exactly the kind of local business collaboration that helps Sacramento companies like Providers International grow and serve our community,” said Secundy. “This would not have happened without the support of your team and the SacAsian Chamber.”
Stories like this demonstrate how Chamber membership extends beyond networking events and business mixers. Through strategic introductions, trusted referrals, and relationship-driven support, the Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce helps businesses build meaningful partnerships that strengthen individual companies while contributing to a more connected and prosperous regional economy.
