Top 5 Reasons to Grab Your ISM Early Bird Tickets
Count down the days with us – the Internal Study Mission (ISM) is back in October!
This year’s 13th annual ISM will focus on how the Sacramento region’s post-pandemic recovery doesn’t just have to mean “back to normal,” but instead how it can mean “Back to Better.” The challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic reiterated the disparities among our communities, and successful recovery is crucial for small businesses. Experts from several fields will join in these holistic conversations to examine the lessons of the past year and how we will build “Back to Better.”
ISM runs from October 21-22. We’re 80 days away, but you only have 25 days to snag your early bird tickets. Here are 5 reasons why you don’t want to wait any longer:
1.Recovery is Better Together
ISM can help you build mutually beneficial relationships with business owners and community members. We will host several panels with local leaders of varying backgrounds to dive further into this theme. Discussions will address how the best support comes from your own community and how we can all work to make recovery more inclusive.
2.Diverse Voices in Leadership
Diverse voices in leadership roles need to be heard and shared now more than ever. Only 18.3% of businesses in the U.S. are minority-owned, and now is a vital time to set examples for young professionals of color. That is why we committed to gathering diverse leaders across the regions to speak on our panels and with you!
3.Network In-Person…Safely!
Chatting through a screen just isn’t the same. Finally, we can gather for in-person connection to expand your network in the local community. Speakers include Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg, California Democratic Party Secretary Jenny Bach, and this year’s Committee Chair, Government Relations Director of Lion Electric, Orville Thomas, just to name a few. All attendees will be strongly advised to wear masks during indoor portions of the events. Guests who are unvaccinated will be required to wear masks and respect social distancing at all times. To protect the health and safety of all attendees, everyone will be encouraged to take health precautions throughout the duration of the event.
4.Specially Selected Tours and Experiences
As if the in-person gathering wasn’t enough, ISM attendees will also enjoy in-person tours of the renovated SAFE Credit Union Convention Center (to be confirmed) and the new SMUD Museum of Science and Curiosity. This is a fantastic opportunity to explore new sites in Sacramento alongside fellow professionals.
5.Setting a New Standard
As coronavirus restrictions loosen, businesses are uniquely suited to explore new opportunities in a time that is, quite literally, historical. One of the ISM panel topics is “The New Normal of Business,” which will explore this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity not only to recover from the pandemic’s challenges but to expand into new business ventures, community connections, and learning opportunities for both ourselves and future professionals. Join us in shaping the new normal.
On October 21-22, 2021, the Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce will hold its 13th Annual Internal Study Mission.
