Ecojoyous: A Journey of Sustainability, Community, and Growth

Ecojoyous was born from the ingenuity and determination of its founder, Hope Suson. As a single mother of three daughters, Hope embraced a sustainable lifestyle out of necessity, sewing, upcycling, and recreating everyday items to provide for her family. What began as a personal mission soon blossomed into a passion for making a difference, as Hope’s artisan creations gained popularity at local markets.
Today, Ecojoyous operates a thriving 1,500-square-foot storefront in Old Sacramento, offering unique, eco-friendly products that reflect Hope’s commitment to sustainability and community.
Overcoming Challenges with Chamber Support
Balancing the demands of a busy 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. schedule has made attending events difficult for Hope, but the Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce (SacAsian Chamber) has been a steadfast ally. The Chamber’s assistance in promoting Ecojoyous on social media and fostering valuable connections has been instrumental in the business’s growth and visibility.
The Chamber’s support extends beyond visibility. By sharing Ecojoyous’ achievements—such as winning the Calling All Dreamers competition—the Chamber has amplified the business’s reach and impact. Connections facilitated through the Chamber have also enabled meaningful collaborations and provided a sense of belonging within the business community.
Partnering with the Chamber has empowered Ecojoyous to deepen its community impact. The business actively participates in initiatives like donating and distributing food and necessities at Cesar Chavez Park. Looking ahead, Hope aims to collaborate with Asian-led organizations to address homelessness and plans to host workshops and events in Ecojoyous’ storefront space, further strengthening community ties.
Looking Toward a Sustainable Future
Hope encourages other business owners to join the SacAsian Chamber, emphasizing its extensive resources, guidance, and connections. “Being part of such an established and organized group has been incredibly rewarding,” she shares.
Reflecting on her journey, Hope expresses heartfelt gratitude for the Chamber’s support. “Thank you…simply THANK YOU for being a support to small businesses like ours! We are truly grateful and blessed to be part of this community.”
Ecojoyous remains committed to its mission of sustainability and community engagement. With the continued support of the SacAsian Chamber, Hope Suson is confident that her business will reach new heights, inspiring others to embrace eco-friendly practices and community-focused values.
